Background:
Alpha-tubulin (b-alpha-1) mRNA is expressed only in brain with a molecular weight of about 55,000. The 3-prime UTR of b-alpha-1 is more than 80% homologous to the UTR of the rat brain alpha-tubulin gene,IL-alpha-T1. B-alpha-1 encodes a predicted 451-amino acid protein that is 100% identical to the rat homolog and differs by only 2 and 3 amino acids from the pig and chicken homologs, respectively. PA000095-MA1107: α-Tubulin Monoclonal Antibody Mouse Monoclonal Antibody. Specificity/Sensitivity: Human, rat. No cross reactivity with other proteins. Applications: Western blot: At 2 ug/ml with the appropriate system to detect α-tubulin in cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry(P): At 1-2 ug/ml to detect α-tubulin in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Reactivity: Human, Rat. Immunogen: Microtubules from chicken embryo brain. Purification: Purified by the goat anti-mouse IgG affinity chromatography. Form of Antibody: Lyophilized from 1.2% sodium acetate, with 2 mg BSA and 0.01 mg NaN3 as preservative. Clone: Tub-1. Isotype: Mouse IgG1. Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
