Background:
The microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs) coassemble with tubulin into microtubules in vitro.Microtubule-associated protein tau appears to be enriched in axons. Tau are composed of 352 to 441 amino acids. The isoforms differ from each other by the presence or absence of 29-amino acid or 58-amino acid inserts located in the N terminus and a 31-amino repeat located in the C terminus. tau is important in establishing and maintaining neuronal morphology and is a major component of the neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) characteristic of Alzheimer’s brain. Microtubule-associated protein tau (MTBT1) is mapped to chromosome 17q21. PA000090-MA1093: Tau Monoclonal Antibody Mouse Monoclonal Antibody. Specificity/Sensitivity: Human, mouse, rat. No cross reactivity with other proteins. Applications: Western blot: At 0.5-1 ug/ml with the appropriate system to detect Tau in cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry(P): At 1-2?g/ml to detect Tau in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat. Immunogen: Bovine microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs). Purification: Purified by the goat anti-mouse IgG affinity chromatography. Form of Antibody: Lyophilized from 1.2% sodium acetate, with 2 mg BSA and 0.01 mg NaN3 as preservative. Clone: TAU-93. Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Other TAU Antibodies: Tau (Ab-356) Polyclonal Antibody Tau (Ab-262) Polyclonal Antibody Tau (Ab-235) Polyclonal Antibody Tau (Ab-214) Polyclonal Antibody

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
