Background:
Ueyama et al. (1990) assigned the ACTSA gene to chromosome 10 by Southern blot analysis of DNAs from 18 rodent-human somatic cell hybrids. Regional mapping by in situ hybridization localized the gene to 10q22-q24.Assignment of the vascular smooth muscle actin gene ACTSA to human chromosome .Smooth muscle alpha-actin gene requires two E-boxes for proper expression in vivo and is a target of class I basic helix-loop-helix proteins. PA000085-MA1106: α-Smooth Muscle Actin Monoclonal Antibody Mouse Monoclonal Antibody. Specificity/Sensitivity: Human, mouse, rat. No cross reactivity with other proteins. Applications: Western blot: At 2 ug/ml with the appropriate system to detect α-SMA in cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry(P): At 0.5-1 ug/ml to detect α-SMA in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Immunohistochemistry(F): At 1-2 ug/ml to detect α-SMA in formalin or acetone fixed tissues. Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat. Immunogen: N-terminal synthetic decapeptide ofα-smooth muscle actin. Purification: Purified by the goat anti-mouse IgG affinity chromatography. Form of Antibody: Lyophilized from 1.2% sodium acetate, with 2 mg BSA and 0.01 mg NaN3 as preservative. Clone: 1A4. Isotype: Mouse IgG2a. Storage/Stability: Stable for 1 year at -20°C and 3 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of the product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
